You Get Traffic For Your Business But Your Sales Are Low? Here's Why

We can all admit that sales are the most important part of a business.

You can have the most amazing product and the most loyal fans, but if you don’t produce sales, your business is going down.

Even if you have an online shop, retail shop or you are a professional that offers services like me, you need to have a business that converts well.

Let’s say that you have a proper marketing campaign and you drive a lot of traffic towards your website.

But the sales are not going great.

Let’s explore the reasons why that might happen.

Is Your Message Clear Enough?

Often times we think everybody knows our product and service as we know it.

What if you’d go to a car dealership and the salesman starts talking about the different parts you can find in an engine, explaining to you why that car is good for you to buy.

“This turbocharged pushrod diesel inline-six is great, you must have it!”

“Sure. Let me see what other offers I can find…”

You don’t want to be like this salesman.

You want to express your brand’s message in a clear way. Even a 5-year-old should understand it.

“This car has a big engine and you can feel it roaring when you are driving it.”

That’s better.

Don’t overcomplicate things. People need only 2 or 3 reasons to make a decision to buy something.

You don’t need to assault your audience with all your 100 things that make your product special from the first page.

Also, does your brand has a clear image of what it represents?

Are you the cheapest car dealership in the area? Are you proud of only offering the best cars someone can buy?

Do you know where your company will be in 3, 5, 10, and 20 years from now?

Create a clear image of your brand because this image is going to convert into a clear message for your audience.

Then stay true to your image and prove to your audience that you are reliable and trustworthy.

Is Your Offer Attractive Enough?

No matter how good your product or service is, you need an attractive offer to make people interested.

Your offer must be something they don’t usually come across.

That’s why you see these big companies having offers or contests from time to time.

This is the way to get the ball moving again.

You might not make the best profit from these offers…

But they will create momentum for your sales to keep growing.

And also…

You can have an offer for a specific product, and the clients it generates can also purchase other products that are not in offer.

When you have something attractive that has a time limit on it, people can’t help but buy it.

It’s called the Fear Of Missing Out (F.O.M.O.).

You probably felt this need to buy something on sale as well.

You know there’s a limited discount and you want to take advantage of it.

This is one way to make your offer attractive to your target audience.

Trust me, it’s better to lose some profit in the short term and gain loyal customers in the long term.

Are You Targeting The Right Audience?

No matter how good my steak is, I will never sell it to a vegetarian.

Are you trying to sell steaks to vegetarians?

You might target the wrong audience without even realizing it.

It’s easy to think that our product or service is meant for everyone when in reality there’s a specific group of people that are interested.

Your job is not to convince vegetarians to try meat.

Your job is to put your steak in front of hungry meat-eaters.

Stop trying to convince the wrong people to buy from you!

Take a look over your audience and try to see which ones are interested in what you have and which ones are not.

You want to target a specific audience that really needs what you have to offer.

The more specific the better.

If not, you will waste money on advertising and not make sales.

The Copy You Have Will Make The Difference Between Success and Failure

The last and most important reason your sales are low is… your copy.

Copy means the text you have on your website, newsletters, social media, etc.

These words have the IMPORTANT role of convincing your visitors to purchase.

If you don’t have a good copy, you are going to lose sales.

Because people are not connecting and engaging with what you have to offer.

You need to attract them to buy

That’s the job of a professional copywriter.
